Masonic Annual Food Shelf Drive underway
On Jan. 1, 2017, the Buffalo area Masonic Lodge, Nelson Lodge No. 135 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons (AF & AM), began the 6th Annual Food Shelf Matching Funds Drive program. We are once again firing up our food shelf fund drive for the year of 2017 and we are focusing our efforts on the Buffalo and Maple Lake/South Haven/Annandale area food shelves specifically. What makes the Mason’s Food Shelf drive different from other organizations drives is that our supporting charity benefactor, Minnesota Masonic Charities, provides a matching grant. For every dollar that Nelson Masonic Lodge No 135 can raise, Minnesota Masonic Charities matches that dollar for dollar in our contribution, hence our ability to give exponentially.Nelson Lodge is partnering with The Order of the Eastern Star (OES), Galilee Chapter No. 53, which is a Masonic appended body, in this year’s funding drive. We would like to thank the people of the communities for being so supportive and generous as without their giving, we would not be able to assist as we do.Individuals can deposit or mail in their donation at any Klein Bank by making the checks out to Nelson Lodge #135 and in the memo field of the check put the food shelf they want the donation to go to. We will take all donations at the end of February and apply for the match as stated above. We will then distribute this money to the food shelves in March. The address for Klein Bank in Buffalo is:910 Commercial Dr. Buffalo, MN 55313The Annandale Food Shelf feels blessed to have this opportunity once again. Every dollar you donate will stay here in our own communities.Thank you in advance for your considerationThis year’s food drive will end on Feb. 28, 2017.
