FAQs

Can I donate fresh produce?

Yes! We happily will take fresh produce and garden-raised fruits and vegetables. We ask that you call ahead and make sure we have room for what you have to donate!

I’ve never been to the Food Shelf, how do I get started?

Just come in during open hours and we will help you get started. We would like some sort of proof of residency and some form of ID for all household members. If the address on your ID isn’t current please bring in a bill etc that shows your current address. For children under 18 a social security card, school ID or health insurance card will suffice.

How often can I come to get food?

Each household can come to get food once a month. There are times that we have extra fresh fruits and vegetables and can offer bonus food shopping the last hour that we are open.

What kind of food does the Food Shelf give out?

We are very proud at the Annandale Food Shelf that we have a wonderful variety of food, fresh fruit, vegetables, and dairy for our families in need.

How much food will I get?

This varies based on the size of your household. However, a family of four on average would bring home a minimum of 100 lbs of food.

Does the Food Shelf have other supplies?

We often have other household items than food such as diapers, wipes, cat and dog food, and cat litter. These supplies vary and are not always available please ask what is available.
